ok, so as a few of you know.. I'm doing an apprenticeship for the girl at my local tattoo shop.
I figured i would share as I learn. Tattoo's aren't something I draw

For this first one, i know some of it looks really blurry.. i'm sorry thats the light reflecting off of the graphite
Most of my stuff will be in pen.

line confidence is really really important as a tattoo artist, for obvious reasons. obviously since it's been a while your hands are going to be shaky and you're not going to be as good as me.

that hair is deadly, and the face is pretty okay, but the shading on everything else (and parts of the face) need some lovin'

This looks really good, but the hair on the right makes it look like her face (cheek bones etc.) is very thin/bony/ghouly

a way this can be fixed is to have the hair come infront of the shoulder/collar

otherwise it doesnt work and gives the illusion of a sunken cheek

on the real though i would say instead of having the hair on right right come infront, i would sweep it behind her ear and her shoulder completely, exposing the full side of her face shoulder and neck. If you think about it, its pretty unlikely that her hair would come behind her ear, then infront of her cheek, then curl behind her shoulder like that in real life, though it might actually be like that in the reference.

If you put that a hair on a picture of Nero's face I'll get that shit inked immediately.
