Your frustration clearly comes from a place of love. A deep concern for the lack of quality and care you are seeing in this forum. Others may not see it that way, but it's true. Calling out the bs and being critical is what should be pushing artists, that truly care about improving their craft, to becoming even better.
I, for one, appreciate your criticism. Thank you for your guidance on the rule of thirds, as well as the link you provided in this post. I saved it and will definitely consider what works best as I continue creating and trying to improve.
Thank you.
I concur with this as well, it's not an unfounded statement he made. Now, I'll add onto it that people here are not generally true artists, just a hobby or something to earn some FG that they enjoy doing (Myself included, I can't draw a stick figure to save my life) but I enjoy trying to find different ways to bring an idea to life, even if someone else doesn't like it or there's flaws I've learned over the years and have (IMO) learned a bit about the art. I am still in no way a professional, as I just kind of throw things together that work well and try and do the best I can with blending/telling a story over the entire piece.
Obviously this isn't a place frequented by true artists, they take their craft into the real world for the most part. So I'm also not coming on here looking for great works of art. The people who are at the top know who they are and its always great to scroll through the forums and come across a signature and be able to go "That's one of X, Y, Z's" work because when you see it done right, its obvious. So props to those guys.
Now, long story short, have fun doing it and if you can make some coin, do it. If someone paid for what you did, obviously it met their criteria so just never stop learning and have fun!
