Oh and Flora, since you seem to know a lot I actually have a question I havent been able to find the answer for..

hope you can help me out..

IF we assume that generel relativity is in fact correct, wouldnt it be impossible for a a blackhole to swallow somethings ? At least big objects like planets and starts? ..

- Goodnight Flora ^^

I don't know a time when a black hole would ever get close enough to a star to suck it in given that the universe is always expanding away from its self, but if a star should turn into a black hole the planets would still orbit it. this is how we sometimes find black holes, when planets seem to be orbiting nothing. the gravitational pull that the star had before the collapse is the pull it would have as a black hole.

so, i dunno when such an event would happen.

Well still we have no solid proof that black hoels even exist.. So I guess theres a lot of different theories about them.. But if we just assume that a black hole got close enough to such a big object, wouldnt it be impossible for it to swallow it due to generel relativity ??

well we can continue this another time lol ^^ Sleep tight ^^

And for that matter, I don't know that a black hole can really suck anything into its self in the first place.

Given that the faster you move the slower time passes, if you should observe a black hole you would see all the things that ever were caught by it as they seem to have stopped in time travailing nearly at the speed of light.

one more for yaaaa
why is it impossible to go the speed of light
and what is exactly theorized to happen if you did
ive heard even wit thee power/tech its not even possible

objects that move gains weight and mass..

for a spaceship traveling at the speed of light you would need an equivalent amount of fuel to comprehend the gained weight.. so to maintain the speed you would need more and more fuel... = infinite = impossible.. something like that

nonnononono
i obviously said
with tech/power
so say that WE CAN DO IT TECHNOLOGY WISE
i hear it is still impossible
something about expanding to fill the universe or darkness or something

and how is it that einstien theorized that if you go faster
time literally goes slower
not just looks like it does

well, because the speed of light is a constant so no matter how fast you move light is always moving away from you at the same speed. the faster you more the slower time has to pass for light to keep this consent.

and the theory has been proven, when satellites spin round the earth the clocks beat a little slower and have to be calibrated to take this in.

the closer to the speed of light you get, the larger mass you acquire. so to travel at the speed of light one would need to have infinite mass.
