I disagree, you really can't learn much from art with tutorials and wiki.

my programming teacher in school was self-studied, he was REALLY good at programming, but not that good of a teacher :P

I just find i have too much stuff on to do much in the way of art these days.
And then when i do get a break im just like 'fuck me i just wanna chill and vegetate'
So i end up playing cod or whatever, and never get anything done.
Its tough.

Programming isn't the same as art. You need to learn a whole new way of thinking when you want to think about art in some sort of "proper" manner.

Sure, you can learn some basic principles, but really, you need people around you who can tell you what they think, and who can properly criticise your work for you to progress well.

it's personal opinion, what can i do..

but i have learned alot and i will be learning more. obviously it is not the same as having someone to teach you and internet is full of shit along with useful things - still you can learn alot from just reading if you read right things in right places.

that's what i think.. anyway.. well..

You've touched on the problem. That being that with the net, you often don't know who actually knows what.

Reading's fine, but you really do want people who know what they're talking about to take a look over your work, talk to you about it, etc.
