As I wrote on facebook, Nexus is really good piece of tech. If you are just chilling with it then 16GB is enough but if you don't have that good internet to use cloud and don't get near your pc every so often then 32GB would be a way. Also, 4G modem would be thing to consider if the prices aren't out of mind. I have 4G modem anyway and a contract that I pay for every month without actually using it so would be good to put that in use in that Nexus (even more since I don't have laptop anymore).

It does the job of a laptop quite good and is much more comfortable than cellphone for multimedia on the go. Fits the pocket, buy yourself a case with bluetooth keyboard (I did) and it is basically a laptop in a much more comfortable shape. Invest some in stylus, the 15bucks ones don't work all that well but I can actually do some sketching on it with mine. win-win.

I got myself some ionic leather case with keyboard, was like around 25bucks. works quite well and keyboard is removable so you can remove it and use separately or carry case without it.

for media purpose it is awesome thing. using it with the FiiO E12 and the MDR-1 earphones. Movie experience is awesome, music sounds awesome and you can carry it with you while having basically laptop features with you. Feels good, m8.

e# in case you didn't read the facebook comment, get yourself ArtFlow app (or SketchBook by Autodesk) and some decent point-tip stylus and you can actually sketch and paint on the go. I find those apps being extremely well made for tablet use. ArtFlow has many options that are common in Photoshop for painters. Definitely worth a try and if you like it, you can buy full version for some hobo coins.
