anyone have tablet recommendations? nexus 7? ipad mini?

i never understood the appeal of a tablet. at home, i'd much rather use a laptop, and at work/school i'd rather use a cell phone.

i really enjoy using our surface 2 pro at work, we used to have an ipad mini, and i'd much rather that over a regular ipad/ipad air.
i'd go with surface if you're getting a full tablet, ipad mini if you want something portable.
i however will never spend money on a tablet. my phone does everything a tablet can, and i've got my computer for everything else.

ya it would just be nice to have for chilling on the couch and having it be very portable.

also can get a good deal on the nexus 7 16gb for 179$
