okay, this isn't really the place to ask, but I figured it's not that worthy of a new thread;
I'm trying to get into digipainting, but I just can't seem to get started properly. I've viewed dozens of tutorials, and the concepts are all in my head, I just can't get it onto canvas. Any tips for a beginner?
don't worry about concepts until you have practiced the core mechanics of digital painting
start with shapes, then still life, then more still life, more still life, then texture the still life, then start working on lighting and shadows, textures, more still life, more still life, landscapes, more still life, then read up on anatomy/composition, more still life, start doing anatomy sketches, more sketches, sketch until your eyes bleed, then THEN THEN AND ONLY THEN, you can start doing paintings of shit you see in your head.
