go fucking draw. dont smudge. learn photoshop tools. learn how to use your tablet. go google some digital painting tutorials. grab a pen and some paper and learn to draw.

He gave you perfectly reasonable advice - maybe inappropriate formed but still reasonable.
I can't help you with digital drawing at all but if you want to get pencils and paper then ask and i believe many people here are more than competent to help. Even i can give some advice if i really try hard.

basically he said the best way to learn to draw, is to draw. no kidding

i guess, lol. wasn't really trying to go for a certain look or style though; i drew each part separately for practice and thought it'd be cool to put them into a face.
