because people are ignorant pretty simple. this forum has a habit of hating on people that are actually good at art. The man was offered 82 g's a year to work at ILM. other offers from activision, midway games, etc. trust me he is damn good.

he may be good

his spacescapes were not good

no one gives a shit if took him 24 hours to model it in maya using special textures he got from his own photographs of sponges if you can do the same thing in photoshop with a better result in a fraction of the time
