I'm not the best, no, but I wouldn't call that text undesirable.

EDIT - But I do agree that the back is still a little lacking, especially on the left hand side. While it wouldn't normally bother me... I can see how some people might not enjoy it. Perhaps next weeks class can be about filler back space... and how to properly proportion a signature.

Im guessing he wants you to use some sort of brush on linear dodge if you wanna make effects brighter or somthing

but for main lighting just use render-lightingeffects.

theres tons of way to deal with lighting, some of the best lighting is from effects, you can also have layers where you add dark or light colors like in the tutorial
