So I realized just what stage I'm at in design and I'm kind of disappointed. So I'm undergoing long and hard hours of non-stop improvement, but I don't know where to start, everything I make turns out REALLY BAD.

Why not start with nice tutorials? Obviously not following every step, but I'm sure you'll find a way to apply your own style.

Cause tuts are boring and i've done everyone at some point in my life.
