It is no problem rendering hair with pen tool. If you can then you're lazy slob.

Her hair was a bitch, and still doesn't look that great.

This is actually the chick from "Serenity" . Think her screenname was "River". Added light sabers cuz badass

This one was also annoying. Prolly wont do anything for serious tags ... but request forum always asks for tyreal shit.

I used to render everything with pen tool. Never used anything else and result was always very good.
My point is, take some time to render hair and other small details with pen tool - it will take longer but result will be so much better.

Also, never use more than 0,2-0,3 feather on render. It turns it to unusable garbage.
