trying to install windows 7 but too dumb to create a new partition without losing data -.-

Creating new partitions scare the crap out of me.
There's always a chance of data loss.
With linux partitioning is cake, but Windows doesn't like it when you try to resize things 0_o

OpenSuse 10.2 with Gnome 2.16, KDE 3.5.5, X.org 7.2 and 3D Desktop with Beryl/XGL. Thats what was on the DVD ^^

GParted should be able to resize a partition for you.
Still, there's always a risk of data loss unfortunately. I've never had any problems though.
You can dl Gpared, or run it off a live cd.

Or, you could try a Windows alternative, like Partition Magic. That's what I used to initially create my Linux dual-boot.

well i will try it. i got 7 OS running atm ~~ i work too much i guess.

will hope it goes well or i lose some thousands of software i cant get back b4 next week ^^

What format is the partition you're resizing??
