Hmm, I don't see it that way I guess. What could I have done to emphasis on the fact that she is the tree, or that the tree trunk is her.
you put that bark texture on such a small part her skin, but it doesn't seem to match the trunk. maybe put it on more of the skin, and make sure to use a similar texture/color.
new branches can be a different color than the trunk, but when a tree is still that young (about the size of a person), most of the tree is relatively the same.
the trunk itself doesn't look like it's meant to be in that particular forest, but it does match the position of her body.
all the other trunks of the trees in that forest are perfectly smooth and straight, whereas the trunk/legs of the girl has a more unique shape.
the flower on her arm throws me off, but the flowers by her neck seem nice. however, it isn't too common for a flower to grow on the side of a tree (not saying it's impossible). the crevice at her neck could have possibly accumulated dirt, and a seed could have gotten there. it's less likely to happen by the elbow though.
also, where did these flowers come from? i don't see any other flowers in the area. the flowers by her neck and the flower on her arm are different species too, which makes it seem even less likely to happen.
the dress is white, and a lot of white dresses are slightly transparent. making the bottom left part of the dress slightly (and i really do mean only slightly) transparent might help.
