/e looks so much better in person .-.

ill list what flaws i see, but i understand your a beginner, but ill list what i see

1. hair, you got a good amount and the mass right, but the value is all wrong... theres no shadow/highlights within the hair. looks like you just randomly scribbled ya know? Look for key shapes within the hair ( values ) what shape is the shadow making>?

2. nose looks pretty wonky, looks like its a 3/4ths view but the other half looks like its from a front on view. it bulges at the middle weird and is too scribbly.

3. the eyes are placed weird. the head overall is tilted slightly to the right, but you kept the eyes as if it was even. so the right eye is up to high. the distant from the eyes to nose is messed up also.

4. take more time on your shading. I use a hb or b overall on the skin, even if someone is white, there skin isnt all over a bright highlight. skin is alot darker than you think, just keep the white of the paper just for main highlights the left side of the drawing ( his right cheek ) is pretty bad for the shading. its harsh/sharp and doesnt look finished as fars the shading goes.

5. the lighting is off, you have a shadow on ( his right side ) but the highlight on his chin is placed on his right so it doesnt make sense.

6. his ear looks like it might be placed too high. usually the bottom of the ear lines up with the tip of the nose if the person is looking straight on. but then again your reference might be tilted.

I appreciate everything you're helping me with Uncle. I shall not let you down. As you have told me in previous post, practice, practice, practice.

key for shading

just take your time

if the cheek is round, draw with rounded strokes as if your actually drawing on the cheek. shading along the form. dont just shade straight down. if you do round strokes it will show and will help with the 3d feel of your shadings.

again just take your time and just go nice and slow and shade/blend. dont know what else to say on blending haha, kind of self explanatory :O
