its one thing to say he didnt "ask" (though, since his friends voted (only 1 regular voted for him im pretty sure)) but he accepted it when others definitely wanted one and were serious about using it

if i had been offered a tablet i would have turned it down.

I personally think if he's not going to use it he should simply pass it on to the next guy who needs one until it finds a proper home. Perhaps he tried and it didn't work out, perhaps he didn't. If he moves it on there's no longer an argument.
