I feel like dynamics would be hard to control. From what I gather it's the same differences you would expect between an electric and grand piano. That deep natural sound can't be replicated.

The pros would be volume and less reliance on acoustic sorroundings.

Always wanted to learn the violin, sigh...  I had to learn the piano instead.
