the render is not greatly placed, sort of doesn't flow well with the design, i think a better render would make this a better sig. its probably the best ive seen in the last few pages

You don't have to look at tutorials to get better. You start developing your own styles too as opposed to the people who religiously follow tutorials. Not saying the last one is good because I agree with everything else you said. Just sayin that he could get better just messing around with Photoshop without tutorials.
