Your shading is so good with just a mechanical pencil,
Im starting back drawing but the eyes are the most important peice to me and you managed to get them done!

you only using mechanical? any blending techniques? stumpfs or w/e? cloth?

i can never get shading that flawless without any marks or without texture from the paper o_o

marks are good imo. buy untextured paper

yeah only mechanical. I prefer black graphite pencils though. They give much better results. You can only go so dark with regular graphite.
Theres no real technique to it, I just kinda map out where i wan't the light to hit her hair, then makes a billion strokes going towards the center on both ends.
use the hard edge of an eraser to highlight specific strands.
Smudging looks really crappy to me. no cloth anything like that.

and yeah, stay away from heavy textured paper. I never have seen the point of that crap. I guess people think shading looks better on textured paper.
