If I want to make stuff to print (lets say 8.5x11 small posters)
should I always be working with 300 resolution?

I've always wondered why my stuff was never printed with the same quality and I'm thinking the reason is because I was always using the default 72.
I'm not too sure though so I'm just trying to get some more information about it if possible.

72 is for on screen
