do you have bare lightbulbs? try and soften your lighting.

it's very bright outside, and shows through the blinds
as for lights i've got none on

to be honest you'd just be better off moving away from the window, but thats probably not doable so I'd say you might wanna try turn on the lights so its equal and even lighting and then pump your monitor's brightness/contrast.
