Well for one, I'm not even close to be angry, not sure where you got that from.
I'm not really talking about tutorials to be honest. I think it's more of a mentality, or a ''way of making a signature'' that's proper to this place. What I mean is that, there is very little place for experimentation and going outside the box because people have been whoring the same style for the last 5 years. Whenever you try something different, you get shat on by the entire section with no proper criticism.
And I seriously doubt that I ever told you that. Yes, tutorials are good when you start but I never yelled and acted like a dick with the new kids unless they really deserved it.
edit:
does anyone remember Shy ? (Trisstrae). She's still into painting and I thought it'd be cool to show you guys how amazing she has become.

This is where i disagree with you, not all the regulars have been whoring same style. They have been, and still are crating their own styles. But there are not many.
The general idea here is; one must master the mainstream, and is only than mature enough to go and explore and develop their own styles. Until that happens you are most likely not to be recognized or accepted, and i think i understand you considering you came back after a while and seeing how much has changed (by a glance, nothing).
Yes, she had great amount of experience in traditional arts before hand, and moved to digi cause of back problems if i remember well. I do like the progress, I also like it cause it seems she finally took some use of custom brushes for skin texture-which she was so much against(custom brushes, if i was unclear). Also i don't know why she still doesn't paint her own images and goes with reference since she got the skill, i mean if you run a default image through some filters you can get similar result. But don't grab me on this one, i haven't seen her other work in ages, i could be mistaken. She still seems to have the mentality of a traditional painter. Progress can be seen. But it's funny to me you brought her up while replying to my comment because of the past.
