your back grounds always look so good, then it looks like you just throw a render on top

Doomed to forever suck at blending.
Time to hit the tuts.

You need to place things other than text in front of the render.

Yeah I tried but I was seriously blocked as to what to use and nothing I tried looked any good, except text and some splatter brushes.

Didn't feel like c4d's complemented what I was going for.

eh.

just try photofilters and solid gradient on low opacity.

another good tip is make a new layer, paint it dark blue then put it on exclusion at low opacity. Should add a yellowish tint.

you're definitely improving your blending though.

edit:

you can add some minor touches that also will do wonder for your blending: ie: add a random filter to your tag and set it on dissolve low opacity, then move it around/delete unwanted parts.

or simply brush some colorful soft spots on linear dodge (or any other similar blending mode). you can also brush a bunch of dust spots with a hard brush on linear dodge (1-3 pixel).

honestly, just find matching colors and try to work around that.
