Lol. I love all things grammar, spelling, writing and reading. But I honestly used to get headaches in math class, it was torture.

Well basically Im making a graphic for a ribbon. The ribbons will be like 3/8 of an inch, 7/8, 1 inch, and 1.5 inches. I tried to use an online converter but it doesnt let you do things with a slash.

The canvas itself is 8.5x11 inches. Its just confusing me how when you make a new document you have to have a width and a height, so I dont get how to get 3/8 and 7/8 to translate over to that.

it doesn't

the 11 doesn't seem to change when you convert it into px from inches..... which might be why you were only given one dimension to work with

is it possible that at 300dpi:

1 inch = 1 px in height LOLOOOLOLOL?

according to photoshop at 300dpi

8.5x11 inches is

2550px leghth by 11px height

makes no fucking sense to me.

I think I just found something like what you were saying earlier (or trying to anyway, Im completely dense).

I create a new file sized .875 x11 for regular sized paper
Then I add my graphics in a repeating pattern, make sure you mirror them if you are printing on transfer paper
I open a new file sized at 8.5x11
I copy and paste the original onto the 8.5x11 as many times as needed

Yeah I had to read it a few times myself.

The width stays at 11, the height is the decimal. I went to a site that converted the inches to decimals, I guess my mistake was looking for a site that converted inches to pixels. Made it easier though :D.

E: I guess you just repeat it over and over on the 11 inch paper, or thats what I got from it anyway o_o
