One thing my teacher told us to do is draw from observationg and not imagination. You need to compare the proportions from your drawing to the figure and not make up your own dimensions. When your eye for proportions improve, your drawings will as well. Also, patience is almost equally important as to not to rush things.

E: for portraits.. Your still lifes improved A LoT as far as I can tell. Keep up the good work :)

More like this, you need to be able to bet these things down before you get all into the detail.
