yah i've done mig welding, huehuehue
i feel basic welding isnt super hard becaues its just a back and forth motion
once you get it, welding normal steel shouldnt be a problem
i have a hard time lining everything up and precision and what not
have you ever considered aluminum welding? i heard its very unique

at the moment I really only need the skill for practical reasons, I hear aluminum is a bit harder. tig welding right?

Though, I would love to learn both, but practical reasons first.

pretty neat
blue painters tape helps save time from sanding and scraping excess glue off

A tip, alot of cabinet shops and other places of the similar trade throw out TONS of expensive wood
Check out some local places, and ask for scraps
sometimes its really surprising what you can find
most of all the wood I get, is acquired this way.

I actually got a ton of ebony guitar fret-board strip blanks from a local shops scrap bin
Plan on using them for inlays and trim :)

wood burning is something you might wanna try out
lots of prints etc online that you can use, and its pretty fun :P
