I stand by my declaration of a septum ring being the most painful piercing I've done. The piercing itself isn't painful, but the subsequent healing is a long process, and any agitation around the ring leads to incredible pain. I wish someone would have told me to use a retainer my first two weeks instead of a captive-ball ring.
