m8s, how much ram would one need (on win 7) in order to not encounter any lags while using programs such as maya? would 4 gigs be enough? or do you have to boost up to 6 or 8 gigs. rolling back to win xp is not an option unfortunately.
and if anyone has any laptop suggestions, they're more than welcome. so far i've been looking into the vaio series.

4 gigs should be more than enough on win 7

I would say 6 on a pc and 4 on a mac
