uhmmm well my website is hosted via some german internet provider, called 1&1. it´s basically a noobish "Do it yourself website" that doesnt require coding skills.

In my opinion the portraits lost tons of sharpness compared to flickr or something.

1&1 is your problem. You get what you pay for with web hosting, unfortunately.

Don't you have FTP access at all?

Depends on how well it's done, to be honest.

You'll probably struggle to get the dynamic range right with a standard DSLR though, but it can work in some shots.

I'm not a fan of light leaks, so i'll say no for that one. Specially when it's colour light leaks on a black and white image, which I don't think would ever happen, even with C41 B&W emulsions.
