Nice shop space, looks like you have room to stretch.

I haven't worked on my shop in the last yesterday or today, I had to tend to real world things like my gf.

Also, I have been planing a few work projects.

What is your heating system?  I needed a heater for my shop and I dont feel like buying propane to feed a space heater.  is that wood burning?

Yeah I LOVE my shop. Plenty big and its just ,I don't know, perfect to me.

Yeah. its just two barrels welded together with a chimney running out the top. It isn't very efficient at all seeing as how I have no insulation and a dirt floor but it is more than enough.

I'm thinking about installing a wood burning stove of some kind. I will always have scraps to burn.

I just need a chimney to vent smoke from.

Just make sure you don't burn any treated. Wood stove is the best way to go especially if you are surrounded by woods like I am. I heat my house the same way.

I just have to find a cheep way to do it, there is a ton of free wood to be had around here. people give it away all over the place.

So, Wahts a good cheep way to make one. I might be able to get a barral, I guess that would work.

The way I did it cost me like 50 bucks if I remember correctly. Made it like 5 years ago. Just arc welded two barrels together with a small metal pipe and ran a chimney out the opposite side. Burns wood in the bottom barrel.

The top barrel heats up and puts off almost as much heat as the bottom. If you know how to weld and have a home depot nearby i THINK you can rent an arc welder from them. Don't hold me to that because I havent been to a home depot in 2 or 3 years.

I found that home depot sells the barral kit for like 70 bucks, and I found a guy that sells barrels for 20 a piece. 110 and done.

then to get some chimney pipe.

Pretty cheap from any hardware store. I remember being surprised by how little I paid and I have a tall ass ceiling.
