Why write "doing something wrong"?

You can move on to 2 point if you want to, but your gonna have alot of trouble if you dont get things cleaner. You clearly are understanding how 1 point perspective works but your draftsmanship is messy.

Heres a tutorial for 2 point perspective that is good but as i said, if you dont get more careful, your gonna have problems. As things get more complicated it is paramount that your lines are light, clean, easily erasable, and reach the two desired points perfectly. Also that your horizontals and verticals are consistent and perpendicular.

If things go to shit once you try to add forms on to your 2 point box, just practice more 2 point boxes from different spots on the picture plane. Doing as many 1 point and 2 point boxes is gonna help you alot. Take note of the station point, it will be used later when things get more complex.

It just looked like i was doing something wrong at first is why i wrote it :P And alright, is it because im sitting down? would standing up over the paper and ruler help me get lines better?

/e; this looks insanely complex. D:

Yes, generally it helps if you standing over the drawing but after a while it phucks up your back. Drafting tables are the best for it but they cost money unless you have them at school or you make it.

And yes its complex at first but when the information is internalized, its second nature and just becomes another way of seeing things. Why do you think they have tons of books with hundreds of pages on this stuff?

edit: if that one is too difficult, try this one, its a dumbed-down version.

Really once you get the tutorial in this post, and the first tutorial, you can try drawing items on your desk with just line, like cups, tissue boxes, pencils, etc. But sooner or later, you will have to learn the more complicated stuff thats omitted from the tutorial in this post.

/e; if i believe i understand how 2 point perspective works can i "attempt" to draw a picture with it and show you? or do you want me to do the the tutorial first instead.
