This guy does the hands down best commentaries/digital paintings imo

He does the concept arts and what not for Riot Games (league of legends). His videos are like 30 mins usually or so. I'd follow in his foot steps

also keep in mind, a full length video could be  an hour and a half - 2 hours? Are people really going to sit and watch it that long and watch every brush stroke? :S

honestly, i probably wont sit through whole video but its better to have it that way so if people dunno how you did something they can watch without it looking like magic (when sped up) lol
and others can skip through certain parts

Honestly I think it would be more manageable if you sped up very tedious parts. dunno tho

just fast forward!

IMO explain everything you're doing, from the brushes you're using (opacity etc) to colours and why. Should help alot of people around here

thanks guys for the input. I think ima do a small demo ( not fast fowarded for like 10 min, of me explaining different techniques, then proceed to explain/show them in the sped up tut

Still life will probably be the best for teaching the basics, going with the theme of fruit because it seems to be a mainstay.

For the first video something simple that everyone will have to understand how to paint at some point or another, probably an apple. This can go over the basics of color selection, lighting, and blending.

Second video perhaps a coconut to go over how to give your pieces texture and depth when light has a less significant impact.

Third pineapple, which forces you to really understand all of the above concepts to make visually accurate considering all of the different angles, textures, and colors.

That's just my $0.02 though, I'm sure what ever you decide will be informative.

At the beginning of each video introduce any new techniques normal speed or even have small recaps of the previous episode (if this is a series?) in normal speed then continue sped up.

Though as CHurley said if you don't wish to mess with the speed there's always a fast forward/rewind. If you offer downloads of the video file I'm sure there's a speed option on wmp or something.

Just my thoughts though dunno.
