Text looks awful that is why people keep mentioning it. Just because someone else chooses it doesn't make it any more correct.

I will say this (probably in vain, again) but just stay away from text for a bit.

Text is just something to stay away from for the time being unless absolutely necessary,
it's just very difficult to get the right placement/flow/feel until you have a better understanding of things.

Have you had a chance to try that tutorial I posted for you?

If you don't want them to complain about the text, don't use any.
It's hard to use and rarely looks good. That's why everyone told you to not use it.
