you absolutely need ps imo you can always just dl a trial, hobos world tut topic should be on 1 page or 2 page of this forum atm

its not absolute, i used gimp for a long while and could make better tags then you do in ps.

but ps is easier to use, gimp is chunky and not the best for quick expensive tools. but it works.

I really like gimp so far and I would love to continue using it, but I am having a hard time finding tutorials in which the artist uses gimp.
Would you happen to know any?

I followed "-Masterchef-'s simple smudge tutorial"

Any other tutorials to recommend please..?

I know you're using gimp, but you're going to have to learn how to use ps tutorials. gimp has all the same tools, they might just be located in other places and have slightly different settings.

OK...

Please follow what I tell you.

I'm going to post a tutorial that is a bit advanced for you, but I want you to read it, then start following it.

PLEASE, show all your steps along the way. show us the render, and your resources you plan to use.

IF YOU HAVE THE SLIGHTEST QUESTION, ASK. its hard to tell you where you went wrong once the whole piece is finished in a constructive way, when you're new... even harder.

Added the last dark green line and smudged it (barely noticeable, oversmudged?)

Added a layer with dark green filled in it, put it over the stock layer and put it on overlay

Added my c4d but it doesn't look good.. why? It is set between the dark filled layer and the forest stock, it is also set to dodge..

edit; I won't continue more today, I will wait for your reply because it seems I have done something terribly wrong!

Just because you follow it exactly doesn't mean it'll look as good as theirs
Maybe use another c4d or another part of that same one (position it differently or something)
Also the render looks pixelated and LQ, should find a better one

Umm if I lower the opacity on the c4d it looks a lot better, for the render I didn't notice untill you pointed it out, so I am gonna try to find a new one tomorrow!
Thank you
