Are there any tutorials that I can follow on digital painting? The only artwork that I've done has always been with pencils, charcoal, ink, gouache, watercolor, or acrylic paints... I've never tried actually painting with the computer, but Bene your stuff is really inspirational and is making me want to try it! lol

As far as composition goes, one tip that I find pretty useful is to cover the corners, and when the viewer comes close to a corner of the image, try to lead their eyes back into the piece ... this can be done by, for example, pointing shapes in other directions, giving a tint of colour which can be seen somewhere else in the image (the eye will jump to different variations such as colour variation, value contrast, shape variation and so on)

e: Also, it says in the tutorial to make use of images or 3d objects if need be, do you ever use those for your work?

@Mezandria: 3d objects can help you a lot with perspective when doing landscapes, but since i dont really do landscapes i dont use them :)

@UncleMuscles: Ill try to give you some cnc :)

I like the colors, but somehow i dont have that underwater feel. I think u should have a stronger lighting from the surface, right now it seems like this scene is on dry ground.

The octopus:

1. There is a much larger, spherelike bump under the eyes.

2. If you look to where the legs are atttached to the head, there is a membrane stretching from one leg to an other.

Well, thats all i can think of and overall i really like this, keep it up. :)
