I'm just interested in making a level, though I'm not sure it's going to be in a TES game or something else, if you haven't already check the action half life map above it, which is just completely bat shitting insane, and kind of the thing I'm after for that particular college project. I'm sure I'll pick up scripting, I don't really have a choice to do what I'm after.

Also, this song is filthy.

Yeah, i still have to check HF out. If you got a link, please! And considering TES, you could just make an add-on or expansion. I was amazed by the construction set itself, it updates map in game and everything if you mess around and raise land above water level. Enabling a player to see the changes and being able to explore. You can also use pre-set weather conditions etc. If you decide to take the project up, and need some help with it, i would be more than happy to help you out (don't know how much i actually remember, i used to do that back in 2002 so that's 8 years ago). Btw are you familiar with Z brush? I was wondering how it works with exporting modes and texturing.

HF?
I'd be more tempted to create the geometry and everything by scratch, not use anything already in the game, which is why I'm currently leaning more towards a source engine level.
I've heard of Z Brush, but I've never used it I should really experiment with it sometime soon.

There is no comparison. In TES construction set everything is more complex, just check some gameplay videos. Yes, you are able to create everything you see.

Meant half life, sorry. You can import your own models, monsters, characters, textures and everything you wish. Also there are tutorials on how to do it. You could create everything on your own, but that would take ages to finish. Also basic landscape and ground texturing is rather easy once you got them loaded or created I never had any experience with Source engine so i can't really compare. :/ I'll google

lolled at your choice of videos :D

not going to argue here since it's like paint vs photoshop all redone, but it's in no way limited, except to the part of being a rts really
