I nailed it. I didnt do any of that ( i wouldnt get paid) but i literally showed them a picture of a rock and asked them what they saw. Was a good opener for 3D scanning Happy happy, now i ma go sleep, prepared quite heavy on lecturing since i dont have that much experience. Anyone do any clay modeling?

I am wanting to get into clay figures/doll making and was wondering what I needed to get started. Such as which kind of clay is better to start off with, what kind of tools I may need, etc.

Anything but porcelain. Get the cheapest to start out with. Probably not any sort of red clay. Get a bunch of wires to make meshes and stuff to mold over. Newspaper also is great to make forms over as it will burn away in the kiln. Majority of it is making your own tools. You can purchase tool kits and stuff with different carving things, but you'd be surprised at what you can use from the kitchen isle. Will you be in a studio? If not, look for a small electric kiln if you are planning on doing small pieces.

Red/brown clay for pottery, white/gray for figures. Same as everything, learn from youtube if you don't have classes. I use small spatulas for modeling. Maybe buy in bulk if you plan to get serious, and keep it wrapped up so it doesn't dry out.
