yep, i thnk 90% of us here started on this forum and congrats, I was considering doing some freelance graphic design... nothing major just product labels, website graphics.. maybe logos.
This forum has had a little heartbeat that past week or so. Hope people continue to post. I'm sure everyone else feels a lot like myself in a sense when this forum died a chunk of my passion for art in general died with it.

Theres actually been a few promising new faces popping up. Hope they can ride the ranks to oldfag status. Parties are always better when more people show up.

Agreed, hoping to join you folks in the Graphic Design sub.
( Lowkey hoping this forum re-ignites my interest in jsp. Because it's way too hard to walk away from this forum. )

Ayy I have GD powers! I swear I was just looking at your profile yesterday to see when the last time you posted was and it was a ridiculous amount of time. Now here you are :3 That's awesome!

I really can't do anything but tag tbh, I don't draw or anything like that. Can't use Illy for shit. But I will say that tagging has helped me a ton with photography. I never would have learned as much as I did about Photoshop if it wasn't for tagging and this forum.

honestly seeing how you are with signatures, you obviously have an idea of what looks good and what doesnt, you know where light hits objects and where it doesn't and you know what colors complement each other.

A ton of stuff from graphic design translates into art in general.Art is like 90% brain power, 10% application. I think if you practiced you could do well.

buy a tablet :3 for general use if nothing else. Its like a hack for photoshop.

Well, true but if you are in a gallery its 90% bullshit (and selling a story), and 10% art which made me lose a lot of respect for those guys. But in the end, everyone needs a pay check to survive.

A WITCH! But in all honesty, we had artsy fartsy teachers that did work for gallery and were also professors. I did minimalistic stuff, I had to present my case and it always blew them away. Idea always comes first, design is second. You would just have to apply what you have learned in a situation where you got a clear goal what you want to say to a person that is looking at your work. I think you are more than capable at doing that if you had a clear goal and a large canvas. In the end if you achieve that directors like it, and it makes people think, you pretty much did your job.

Most demons are immortal.

ours are kinda touch-me-nots. They just use us as jungle gym equipment.

They aren't bad, I just end up taking care of them. I have the only pet I've ever wanted, so its kinda a pain.
I'm a night owl to :3 its like in my DNA.
They cat that was (kinda) mine was apparently a bangle or something. His name was dudu. Absolutely batshit.

Our 'Chilla was more like IDGAF, but if you stood still for half an hour it would come to you and let you pet it, and if you went to sleep it would hop on your head and cozy up. Adorable little bastard :D

Super stoked to see familiar ass names, i just searched Goblet D2jsp and found a birthday post from 7 years ago. Whats up slunko, what up whytelinux! I'm finally a graphic designer at a print shop now. This forum is what got me started.....SHEEEEITTT. Nostalgic bruh.

HEY GOB! :D OMAGAD old d2jsp crew is coming back! Nothing much, looking for a job and just applied as multimedia tech. Also finished graphic school and other stuff and worked in gallery and exhibitions for 6 years. Hit me a pm and let me know what happened to you in last 5 years!

I think all of us that did graphic here have a unique bond. Nobody sugarcoated when you got cnc and you got destroyed back then if you sucked. Sheiron, Nero, Whyte, Xan, we were all direct. I think what brought us closer together was knowing where you were at and how good you were. The ones that got their feelings hurt cause they were told they were no good, left. But we got determination, dedication and we wanted to get better. Either you swallowed up your pride and listened, or you got butthurt and left. And i am grateful to you all for every second of that when i got into design and GDGC.

I started to tag pretty late, 2013 or so, but that is definitely the best kind of cnc that I received. So many people started new threads and stopped posting after receiving the slightest bit of negative cnc.

I stilll suck, though. Need to start a new progress thread.

Im so glad you guys are here, god dammit. My job is just small time stuff but I love it! It brings me to new clients and I also am forced to design everyday. I've had a few year of being rusty but last year an opportunity and I was so damn rusty. I learned so much here through CNC and the community. Im definitely going to start posting here again. I've explained many times how I started designing making "small picture designs" on a sub forum of a game called Diablo lol.

D'aww <3 Lol everyone has tried to convince me to get a tablet, both on the tagging side and the photography side. I just..I'm old man. I can't even make myself get used to lightroom because I'm so stuck on photoshop. I really don't think I have it in me to learn an entire new tool.

And yesss @ trying to explain tagging to outsiders. I say that's how I learned the in's and out's of photoshop and people just don't understand what the hell a tag/signature is. Plebs :c

Random side note, does anyone do a low carb diet? Odin I know you're into the healthy thing.

I actually started with sigs in a (now long dead) forum called signaturebar.com. Now i have a degree, experience and i am thinking of studying further and get that master's ... Also, tablets are overrated on the design side of things, but being able to illustrate is always a good thing.

Making sigs is a whole other skill from 'regular' graphic design, one of the reasons i still find myself loving it. (making a decent sig is hard, especially after so long since making one)

We all have confidence in your abilities, even if you don't!
I don't follow a diet per say. what are you looking to do?

They are deceptively adorable. As evil as they come though. If they could strike a match I'm pretty sure I would be homeless right now.

I thought the same thing for a long time, now i see my error tenfold. They open up Photoshop to so much more than a mouse could ever do.

Ask these oldfags how long they have been barking at me to get a tablet
