roommate's wifi is broken on her laptop
takes it to goonsquid
they return her laptop, tries to boot, windows deleted
takes it back to goonsquid, they give her a brand new laptop
takes it home, turns it on, wifi broken
takes it back, they "fix it" and she gets home and it's still not working but it has windows 10 instead of windows 7
i open device manager and see no network adapter
install network driver
laptop works fine
