ie: mance and his spearwives are going to be brienne and pod (why the fuck did they kill mance for real, usrs benihoff?), sansa will be jeyne/fake arya etc.

and varys siding with daenerys has to be one of the dumbest thing the show has done so far.

Thanks for this, I found a variant of sans serif that looked good. To bad grub can only display 14 color posterized images so I had to monochrome my logo and the text is a bit pixalated, but it looks a hell of a lot cleaner than the mess that it was set to before.

Maybe I should just update to grub2 and have high res splash screen support. Then again you only see the boot loader for 10 seconds tops.

Fundamentally, any good logo should display well in grayscale. Treat it as a requirement rather than limitation.

It was the gradients that made it less than perfect to look at. I might try to vector the logo (https://wiki.gentoo.org/images/6/6b/Gentoo-logo.svg) into solid colors so that it will look better being used in 14 color mode. Then again the time spent looking at it when the computer is booting is hardly worth the effort. Only reason I changed the original was because it looked like someone jizzed onto the splash screen and resized it to feet the low resolution without keeping the aspect ratio.
