roger that boss, thank you a ton for this. Light source was supposed to be quite strong, i found inspiration in this work:

I am trying to simulate the style, learn, and get a similar result. Basic was to get same texture into the piece which proved to be a fucking pain in the asshole.

try painting (or drawing) some nudes in black and white that arent from direct profile or full frontal, then we can really see alot better what your not grasping (and its on of the best exercises to get better)

alot of people will disagree with me but i think if you cant draw with really great form and shadows, theres no point in throwing color into something (color is so much more complicated and difficult then people think to get right, ESPECIALLY skin tones)

No one should ever disagree with that. Learning to see correct form and value is the first step, and color just gets in the way of that for beginners.
The best part is, b/w paintings can be colorized very easily in photoshop using color layers (a method used by some pros as well).

yeaahh that's some advanced shit
but it's basically blocked in black and white first and he's coloring with layers on overlay and color mode
if done right, it creates quite a realistic effect
but as stated above, i'd suggest sticking to black and white until you're comfortable with doing life studies in full color

e/ also, though it might not be apparent at first; notice how saturated his pieces are, even if the colors seem muddy. the shadows are extremely saturated

Alright guys, time to start learning how to do this.
Warning - this will be bad.
Going to learn to paint from imagination- which is something I've literally never done. Ever.

Quick first try:

Next thing will be from reference though so I can actually learn to draw correctly.

:/

Not as bad as it could have been in my opinion. Looking forward to more.

perspective is a little bit off, and your mechanics should be sharpened a bit - right now it looks very forced.

your values are pretty tight in the foreground, but you're not using them to your full potential for the middle/background - so tighten them shits

Yep. Not only is this my first try purely from imagination, but I've actually never done a landscape before -- I've only ever drawn people, from reference.

So I'm going to spend the next few days working from reference so that I can build a visual memory and learn proper value distribution.
