last year i let everyone enter, and then i gave the tags all a number and then matched them together at random, then i sent them out to people.
there were only 2-3 pairs that i specifically chose, and those were for two painters who shall remain anonymous, because i didn't want to give a painting to someone who would wear it for a few days and then swap it out for a request tag as soon as they sold their shako to buy gfx.
if anything, some of the newer posters here are more inclined to put effort into their tag, especially if they get assigned to one of the older posters.
two years ago i gifted toni, and i put a good amount of effort into it because i wasn't known around here, but i had lurked for long enough to know that he was good, so i didn't want to give him a piece of shit.
regardless, i'll pull my weight and seriously throw out 3-4 tags, if need be because the whole fucked up part is when some of the regulars around here sign up, and then they don't turn in a tag, and someone gets stuck without one, but there's no hesitation in allowing them to participate since we're internet homies.
NOT TRYING TO COME DOWN ON GREG, HERE but that's just my two cents on this issue.
