Based on what ive seen, you guys chose a to hard turorial <_<

It's not that it's hard. It's the tutorials directions, some of it is a little vague.

Alrighty!
I tried pretty damn hard to follow it step by step without adding any of my own personal touches

this is way better than that green/blue mess you made earlier
this is probably my favorite background out of all the attempts
the brightness is a bit much though, and your soft brushing shouldnt be so bright
the typo could have been better, i like the effects on the tutorials much more

no, people thought they were ready for a harder tutorial so we showed them what its like. sooner or later im going to make them start learning from PSDs and later just by looking at outcomes. This is still the easy stuff

also @ those who dont think black soft brushing is any good

i did like that whole sig in black soft brushing and 2 gradient maps
(granted, now me would have removed the bright edge on the right)

@ the page full of black doesnt/does exist....... wtf guys. if someone says black doesnt exist in nature they are trying to be smartasses, "oh man light n shit", ofc it fucking exists in nature. please dont load this thread with crap like that

I used to use black soft brushing alot, or I pentooled black and blurred the edges and change opacity..
Sometimes you have to create shadows that dont exist, just aswell as you create the light.

yeah exactly, its about making the light/shadow fit for the render

i used to use burn but that shits permanent and a pain to undo if you decide differently. imo black brushing works just as well (or dark brown or whatever)

Ok i made a few more tweaks on my last 2 , really wanted to try and get the most out of this, so let me know.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa185/AF_Mitch_07/Futuristic-1.png First time saving a img as a png. also this one just made text less dumb, tried fixing brightness/contrast, and this is just a regular sharpen.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa185/AF_Mitch_07/Futuristic3.jpg And for this one i did same as above except its smart sharpen

i thought someone already got to this my bad.

so, compared to earlier the brightness is much better.
the text looks better now and the sharpness of the tag in v1 is nice

the pony tail is too obvious though, it needs to be blended better
im still not a huge fan of the blue sparkle effect here but it looks a little bit better compared to earlier i suppose
and for future reference you should always save tags as .png, its the best quality imo

my dodging and burning is usually the last step in a tag, i also sponge a bit to liven or dull colors
