have a definite light source and shade the facial features with adjacent colors
in the end, you shouldn't even be able to tell her real skin color- but that's the point
red/dark red = shadows
blue =diffused light
yellow = highlights
green + yellow = adds life and texture to the skin

I am trying to simulate the style, learn, and get a similar result. Basic was to get same texture into the piece which proved to be a fucking pain in the asshole.
