Agreed, It would be better to draw from life - or digitally using photographic reference - and spend a lot of time trying to make your painting look correct.
Doing this trains your mind to be able to know what correct forms look like, which is a huge part of painting.

add color to the shadows so that it's not so flat
have a definite light source and shade the facial features with adjacent colors
in the end, you shouldn't even be able to tell her real skin color- but that's the point

red/dark red = shadows
blue =diffused light
yellow = highlights
green + yellow = adds life and texture to the skin

roger that boss, thank you a ton for this. Light source was supposed to be quite strong, i found inspiration in this work:

I am trying to simulate the style, learn, and get a similar result. Basic was to get same texture into the piece which proved to be a fucking pain in the asshole.
