but remember, shading doesnt make a drawing

so sometimes its good to practice just plain lineart

Thanks muscleman. i know i keep getting people telling me to just draw sketches but i always wanna finish something i start. Unfortunately

who is telling you this?

remember my first advice - you'll get a lot of bad advice here.

sketch looks good. have a look at other artists pencil work to improve your pencil technique

edit; actually, are those sketches from a"how to draw portraits" book? think I know the artist

Quite a few people from college. Like do a sketch but don't go into shading yet.
I saw some of your work on here, i don't normally kiss ass but ill kiss chows ass and say some nice art!
@churley The reference was from "The human figure" book i purchased today.
