Learn what abstract means to learn how to do it.
Abstract = Shapes & colors without meaning

Without meaning? I'd disagree on that one.

I'm not talking about cubism, I'm talking about abstract art. For something to be art, it has to have a meaning, even if that meaning is as shallow as "it looks awesome".

Oops, meant surrealism, not cubism, lol :D

Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.@wiki

doesnt "abstract" in terms of art mean like: "something that doesnt show a specific / concrete thing" ?

Just because the art is abstracted from the original form does not mean that it is without meaning.
