I did mine with multiple layers, that way the biggest glow is really subtle, then gradually gets more intense as you get closer. You're also putting light sources where there shouldn't be light sources. Try removing the two on the left side, and move the text so that it looks like that is giving off the light. :)

Doing the text hurt me though, it hurt me real bad. Oh and the black brushing to blend, I didnt get that at all.


Black soft brush, make clipping mask to the render, use a black soft brush to go around the edges of the render to blend him more, layer modes help sometimes but a regular black soft brush with low opac does the trick to blend.

I didn't get that step too well either. Especially because you're technically not supposed to ever paint in black because it doesn't exist in nature.
