I did some lighting and color gradients on different settings to give it some depth.

What do you think?

Alright the steps i made where.

I put a 100x soft brush white behind him and set it to lighten. but i did it on the edge of the brush to give it a light effect then erased around his head and arm to give it the depth.

then i use 100x black soft brush and went around the focal n set the layer to 40ish % but left some of the details around the focal

then i added a Orange / Purple gradient to lighten went to 48%

then added a Purple / Green / Orangeish yellow gradient to soft light at 33% to give it some character.

then made a new layer and apply image then sharpened and opacity set to 30% this is in CS3 extended

Heres this if you wanna use it as a sig. its on the house :P

REMEMBER dont be afraid to make multiple layers to test different things and erase and add where necessary. Not everything has to be on 1 layer.

he's saying use higher contrast resources, by low quality he doesn't mean your work has no effort put in, he is saying fi you are going to make something start with high quality resources.

you will never improve without tuts. follow tuts. then follow more tuts. try some tuts after and at the end find your own bit of spice to it.
