As always.. learn to walk before before you run, learn to draw before you can paint

Check out the way you structured you eye shapes and compare them to this one, try to ignore all the shading and look only at the lines

www. designyourway.net/diverse/drawtuts/draw-eyes.jpg?2444a1

Look how your eye is almost a perfect symmetrical almond shape, a common mistake for new artists. Notice how in the drawing above, the eye shape is asymmetrical, the shape is closer to a parallelogram with rounded edges. Also look how your eyebrow curve is the same as your eye lid curve, they should always be different, like in the drawing above.

The curves of the upper eyelid, lower eyelid, and eyebrow really make or break your eye design, an easy way to hammer in good eye design is to practice copying good cartoon eyes and then go back to realistic eyes with a better understanding of the shapes.

This page is a great one to copy and reference, I've drawn it a few times before.

Didn't paint the man and the raven. That's just pre made brushes.. The next projects I'll take your wise words into consideration and paint something simple :)

Should I just try to find objects in my house and paint them?

Going to practice some eyes and lips afterwards I think. The bottom are reference, and I clearly need some practice to nail it :P
