Are you actually learning stuff as you do this? it looks as if you produce the same quality work every time. Do you take peoples criticism into consideration? Maybe write down a few notes for the next manip and have it by your side so you wont forget.

The quality of resources you're using is insanely mixed though.

The grass doesn't look natural, and looks like it was erased with a soft brush at the top of the hill.

Then you've got this big-ass CGI planet contrasting it.

Thank you :)

and well. your sorta right. i blurred the back layer of grass a little too much it looks like

the planets were hard to find something decent to used, just about all were moldy and looked like clay models

I was going for something like this

Something like that really isn't hard to achieve if you're using existing stocks.

Find a nice mountainscape, cut out the sky (using pen tools), add in the sky, use gradient maps and whatever to match the colours up.

Check out matte painting tutorials too, they're similar
just extract the core ideas and points from each tutorial and understand why things are positioned as they are

I do see an improvement though, just keep pumping these out and post them in one thread instead of one thread for each piece
It's easier to refer back to earlier pieces and see progression

Oh and also, don't try to recreate unrealistic stuff yet
You need to understand how matter behaves on earth before you can start making up stuff like that scene above
That piece works only cause of its compo. Other than that, there's nothing appealing about it. The colours aren't even realistic and the mountains are lit unevenly

Your blending needs work. The bottle doesn't look like it should be there. Try making it slightly darker.

This one was done pretty quickly for a friend who wanted a mermaid in space, didnt have many ideas for it so just slapped something together

the moons were difficult to make "fit" in the picture. tips on that would be awesome
